White House: Be prepared, not panicked about swine flu

Officials in the Obama administration are seeking to reassure an edgy public about a potential swine flu outbreak, stressing the need for patience and preparedness, not panic. They assert that there is no need for the nation to take drastic measures, such as restricting travel from Mexico. But they also say Americans will need to increase their vigilance. So far 20 cases of swine flu have been reported in the United States, with the latest in Ohio and New York City. All have been mild, with patients recovering fairly quickly.  Read full story >
