Washington man becomes third U.S. swine flu death

A man in his 30s who suffered from a heart condition and died in Washington State was found to have the H1N1 (swine) flu virus, health officials say. Meanwhile, a 53-year-old man in Costa Rica became that country's first flu-related death, making it the fourth country--along with Mexico, the United States, and Canada--to have deaths from the H1N1 virus. The virus has now been reported in 30 countries, and though it continues to spread, health officials say it is not as virulent as they once thought. Their goal at this point, they say, is concentrating on how the virus developed and how it is spread.  Read full story >
