A reader whose son has recently been diagnosed with H1N1 swine flu asks if it's possible for her to keep from contracting the virus. Dr. Jennifer Shu responds that statistics suggest there's a 10 to 20 percent chance of catching the H1N1 flu from a household contact. But she also says there are things a person can do to reduce his or her risk.
