By stonecoldeli Friday, February 22, 2008
it's been a while since my last attempt at quitting.  i didn't smoke at all the month of march last year, i was hospitalized.  it felt so good to be a nonsmoker!!  i really want that.  they're even tasting good lately, unfortunately.  i'll use this site to go get motivated, wish me luck.

Thanks so much for your post.  I hope our site can help provide you with the information and support you need to make this attempt a success.

It sounds like you have been wanting to be smoke-free for awhile now.  So you most likely know alot about the basics of smoking.  You may want to read our materials on the management of quitting smoking.  Everything from handling withdrawal to lifestyle changes that can help you maintain a smoke free life.

Let us know how you are doing.  There are lots of people who need support - maybe this can be that place for you.

All the best, Sue

I wish you tons of luck. Many people find motivation to quit for good after they experience an illness. Unfortunately once health returns, often the temptation to smoke returns too. If you can keep that image in your mind of how good it felt to be a nonsmoker, that will become a source of inspiration for you.

And you know cigarettes really only taste good once the taste buds have been deadened by smoking. After you've been smoke-free for a while and you have the full return of your senses of taste and smell, I doubt you'll think cigarettes seem so attractive :)

best,

I have found on this two months of being smoke free: my body doesn't want a cigarette as bad as my mind tells me it does.

I do hope that you are able to obtain a smoke free lifestyle~~the one day at a time is sometimes not enough.  There were times when it was one minute at a time.

My prayers are with.
