8. Be a Santa - Surprise somebody by doing something nice. Send a note to your neighbor or phone a friend with a brief and cheerful "I'm just thinking about you and wanted to wish you a Merry Christmas" greeting. Make cookies or banana bread for your letter carrier. Don't underestimate the power of a small, but kind, deed. Little things mean a lot!

9. Enjoy the moments - Live in the moment. If you're breathing well right now, smile, laugh, and enjoy the party! Please don't spend your energy worrying about tomorrow. This very day - the time we're in right now - will never come along again. All of us are promised only today, nothing else.

10. It's their problem - Don't beat yourself up over what you might have done to cause damage to your lungs. You're not the only person, the first person, or the last person in the group, who may have done something that is not good for their health. You're doing the very best you can right now to be healthy, and if somebody can't deal with that, its their problem. If you use supplemental oxygen (and we say supplemental because everybody uses oxygen) think of it this way: Some people use bottled water, you just used bottled air!

Whatever way you celebrate the holidays - think ahead, know your limits, count your blessings, and have fun! Happy Holidays from Jane M. Martin and all the great folks at Breathing Better Living Well.com!
