deciding to quit is the biggest step.  now it's just finding the right method.  i found almost freaky assistance from chantix.  it took awaty the crazy palm sweating anxiety.  then it just got easier.... i thought about smoking so infrequently.  i went off chantix after 5 months but went back on at 6 months because i felt that i was "white knuckling"  ofter 4 weeks i went off.  now its been two months.  all religious overtones aside i feel exorcised,  the cravings are beyond tolerable.  almost a nonevent  you Can Do It!  if i can help.....
