am trying to quit smoking but need support. There has not been a reason that has encouraged me enough to actually accept that I can do it. It is all so frustrating and I have tried everything through the years. I wonder if there are others out there that feel like I do.....angry frustrated fed up wit...

it's always worth to quit, never too late, always the right time.  even if you've damaged your health already stopping now increases your chances.  i swear i never thought i'd quit.  i used to joke that they'd pull the marlboro from my cold dead hand.  then i found out that dead could happen quite reasonably before 45! so it's been a year and so much easier than you can believe. go hour by hour day by day and next thing you know......... i did use chantix for 5 months,if it is an option for you, check it out. you CAN do it!!!

    Hello There:

I am just a little bit over two weeks smoke free, after smoking for

59 years.  I had been smoke free for 2 years awhile back, but I started

to smoke again full time.  It was the dumbest thing for me to do.

Believe me when I say, that quitting smoking is worth all the effort

you can muster.  Your very life depends on it.  You see, fifteen or

so years ago, I was diagnosed with Emphysema and Chronic

Bronchitis.  I really did not feel any symptoms, except a cold or

dry weather cough.  I quit for two years.  At that time, I was a quite

heavy drinker ( Quit all alcohol 15 years ago ), so alcohol and

Major Depression led me back to the cigarettes.   I have been trying

to quit since then.  Using this site, and getting a support group

convinced me that if I did not quit NOW, I would have to use O2,

or worse, die within a few years.  I, after much soul searching decided

it was my time to quit.  It is worth any sacrifice you have to make.

Personally, I prefer to use NRT to ease the withdrawal symptoms.

Life is precious, you are precious!  You are the only one of you that

there will ever be.  Honor yourself, and take care of yourself.  You are

not replaceable.  We need you!  So if there is anything I can do or say

to help you along, do not hesitate to conact me.  We can do this together.

    I AM  johncallahan63@yahoo.com

Take care of yourself, I am rooting for you,

    John
