    Hi, Randilynn.

I recall your posts from last year as you struggled with quitting smoking and weight gain and all the other inevitable issues of becoming smoke-free - I am so glad to see that you hung in there and are still smoke-free - how amazing and wonderful is that!? I know you will serve as an inspiration to others, maybe even to your sister - congratulations on your continued success!

    best,

thank you.  i just posted the other day; my father died at age 65 from prostrate cance with bone metasis.  we though it was quick, the doctor's thought it was practically a miracle.  but in that post i also posted an ulimatum.  ithreatened to smoke ome of my two sisters cidarettes if they didn't quit this week.  i said i'd smoke one from each of their packs.  but i really can't.  help?

I'm so sorry I didn't read your more recent post - your July 4th one jumped out at me - my condolences on the loss of your father - that is just awful and he was so young.

The thing about smoking is that once you relapse, you find yourself immediately regretting it and your other issues still remain, except now you have to quit smoking again. I do hope you won't break down and smoke, but if you do, my wish for you is that you can quit immediately - it is so important not to jeopardize your health - with over a year under your belt, your body has made some serious progress toward healing - please don't risk throwing it all away.

    best,

    anne

i have, at all times, an inappropriate sense of humor. or maybe just naivety with threats.  i told my sister that i'd start again if she didn't quit.  she hasn't, but i'll never smoke again.  the accountability i feel towards my dad has outlasted his life
