yes, i am definitly more compelled to smoke with the new smoking labels and ESPECIALLY the new graohic images. seeing a man laying dead on a cornors table didnt make me want to quit, it made me laugh though. These ridiculous tactics the government uses to urge people to quit are useless. They furthur the social isolation one already feels as a smoker, and those who don't smoke now seem to feel as though they are the best thing on the planet because they 1.have never smoked, or b. were able to quit. Not all of us have the will power to quit, or the luxuary of affording expensive pills, treatments, and even buying a regular supply of the costly nicotine gum or the patch. You want people to quit?? Give them something that WORKS. Right now there is nothing. I know our government is enjoying the tax benefits earned from the huge cash cow of stop smoking aids. PAAAHHHLEEEASE. I think there should be warning labels on everything. How about alcohol for instance, good place to start.." DRINKING ALCOHOL MAY LEAD TO YOU KILLING ANOTHER HUMAN BEING, AS IT IMPAIRS YOUR JUDGEMENT AND MAY CAUSE YOU TO GET IN YOUR CAR ND HIT SOMEONE." "DRINKING CAN LEAD TO ALCOHOLISM." "DRINKING WILL GIVE YOUR CIROSIS AND EVENTUALLY KILL YOU IN A SLOW (AND DISGUSTING) PAINFUL DEATH" ETC..... and have a big picture of a someone running over someone else with their car and their guts splattered everywhere, or....you get the picture. How about that? Oh wait i forgot...alcohol is safer than cigarettes right? its too "socially acceptable" or my favorite, "its a cultural thing". Shame on he government for this. GIVE PEOPLE 100% FREE WAYS TO QUIT. dont talk about how much money you would save IF you were ABLE to quit.
