Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is the term used to emcompass a set of lung diseases, primarily emphysema and chronic bronchitis. These are characterized by a limitiation of airflow in the lungs which develops overtime and is not reversible. Symptoms of these diseases include, chronic cough, spitting or coughing phlegm, and being out of breath when doing physical activity.
