Hi, I was just diagnosed today 8/23/2011 with moderate COPD, it is stage II, and no this does not mean that you have emphysema that would be more of the lines of stage IV, but yes, the smoking has to stop we now have to take better care of ourselves watching who and what we are around that can make us sick or have an attack. Always follow-up with your doctor take all prescribed medications, and any other rehabilitation process that the doctor gives you. I also have an associates degree in healthcare reinburshment, and we had to learn about these diseases and other issues we deal with in the medical field along with the codes and procedures.
