Several things happened in a row where I couldn't smoke or it was difficult to smoke. I didn't like the company I was put in when I wanted a cigarette. I didn't like the morning coughing. I didn't like not being able to smoke in my kids' homes. I found I was avoiding places where I couldn't smoke. Then I got in touch, after a very long time, with my best friend in high school. She said, "I can't believe you still smoke?" Ha, we started smoking together! I was embarrassed. Her brain is a bit fried from drugs, and SHE is causing ME embarassment. I thought, that's IT! I use nicotine gum and got a prescription from my doctor to decrease the anxeity. I am still struggling but I am determined. What can I say? I feel your pain. After smoking for 48 years, I know the pain of smoking and I know the pain of quitting. The pain of quitting is less. Difficult, but less. Thank you so much for your reply. It was helpful to tell "my story" again. Elika
