Q: how long does nicotine stay in your system

I have quit smoking for 21days and I'm due to for a drug test. Blood and urine. will I be able to pass?

Nicotine leaves the body after about 48 hours, but cotinine (a metabolite of nicotine) might remain for up to a week. It seems that if trace remains were found in a blood test after 21 days, it would be more likley a result of exposure to second-hand smoke than from your previous smoking history.
