Q: is it normal to be released from the hospital just a couple of days after they found a blood clot in your lung and told to just take asprin and it should go away?

Hi Dan... That sounds surprising to me. To my knowledge, aspirin is used more as a preventive for clots, rather than as a curative. Drugs like Heparin and Coumadin (warfarin) are more commonly used to treat clots and clotting.

If I were you, I'd seek a second opinion on this issue.

To your health,

Kathi

This is a first to me. I have had a couple of PE's and was kept in the hospital on IV heparin for about a week each time. They are a very serious and life threatening condition.  Find a different doctor!!!! One that has some sense and who cares whether or not the patient drops dead on his watch.
