Q: Stopping smoking and then getting allergies to pollen/springtime. Is there a connection??

We live in North Carolina.

My wife quit smoking in January.  She is 48 and had smoked regularly since a teenager.  She had allergies to pollen/spring as a child/teen.  It appears that she has them again now.  Is this because she no longer has smoke in her lungs to block the allergens??Curious Larry B.I also stopped
