I am a heavy smoker with constant loud coughing and flem for many years. I have started having reoccurring headaches several times each day. Can headaches be caused by lack of oxygen from difficulty breathing?

I suppose it may be possible that your headaches are related to lack of oxygen. The frequent, hard coughing might also be a factor. BUT... headaches can also be a symptom of many other conditions, some of them serious. In all probability the headaches are nothing to worry about, but to ease your mind and be sure, I would strongly encourage you to consult with a doctor about this.
