Monday, August 03, 2009 Geronamo asks

Q: I am a 61 year old male and a heavy smoker most of my adult life. I stoped smoking 18 years ago.

I have cronic tiredness and want to sleep constantly. I sweat heavy even with temps in the low 60's with little to no activity. I am out of breath with very little activity, such as rolling over in bed, tying my shoes. I am 6'2'' tall and weigh 235 lbs. so slightly over weight. I also have a constant pain in my upper left hand side of my chest that is worse when I lay down. Very little coughing or spitting up.

Hope someone can steer me in the right direction.

                                                       Thank you

Hi Geronamo,

First off... good for you quitting smoking and staying quit. It's not easy, so that's a real achievement.

Next, please call your doctor! As soon as possible... your symptoms are something that should definitely be evaluated right away.

Good luck to you,

Kathi
