Q: manage asthma

will a fingertip pulse oximeter help me manage my asthma

Probably not... the better tool for managing asthma is a peak flow meter, which measures how forcefully you're exhaling. That's a better measure of asthma control than the percentage of asthma in the blood, which is what an oximeter measures.
