Heart risk drops quickly for women who stop smoking

A new study shows that the risk of dying from heart disease drops 21 percent in the first five years after a woman quits smoking. The risk of other conditions caused by smoking, such as lung cancer and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease dropped more slowly. One of the researchers said, "It's never too early to stop, and it's never too late to stop." Read more »
