Dr. Christine Brown says that the problem isn't an ingredient--it's that shiny glosses attract the sun's rays. Dr. Brown says that women who use these balms should first use a sunscreen on their lips, since skin cancer on the mouth is potentially more difficult to treat than other skin cancers.
