Researchers say a simple test that analyzes DNA in a person's
sputum may help diagnose lung cancer in early stages. In a recent
trial, the test was 76 percent accurate in identifying stage 1 lung
cancer in current and former smokers. Researchers say diagnosing
lung cancer in the early stages is key to improving treatment.
