U.S. researchers say teenagers who play sports are less likely to smoke, but those who watch a lot of movies are more likely to pick up the habit. The data is based on school and telephone-based surveys of 2,048 adolescents. Experts found that those who did not play sports were twice as likely to take up smoking, but in both groups, those who watched the most movies that portrayed smoking were equally as likely to become established smokers.
