FDA asks for more info on COPD drug

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has asked drugmaker Novartis for more data on their experimental COPD medication. The drug--known as QAB149, or indacaterol--is a once-daily bronchodilator for patients who have emphysema or chronic bronchitis. The drug was recently approved in Europe, and a drugmaker spokesperson said the company felt confident it could address the FDA's concerns.  Read full story >
