Exercise makes cigarettes less attractive to smokers: study

Researchers say exercise can help smokers resist the lure of tobacco and of smoking-related images. In a small study scientists used eye-tracking software to determine how quickly pictures of cigarettes caught participants' attention. They found that those who had been exercising responded to the images 11 percent more slowly than participants who had simply been sitting. Researchers say this study adds more evidence to the theory that even short bursts of activity--such as a brisk walk--can help smokers kick the habit.  Read full story >
