this is my first entry. I am a stay at home mom. I am having an extrememly hard time with depression. I am currently taking zoloft. I am so guilty about my children always seeing me in bed. I tell them i have a headache. My daughter is nine and is realizing that I am not like the other mom...

You have taken some of the first steps to get help. You have let others know something is wrong. I have two daughters they are now adults, ages 23 and 19. They watch my life fell apart and still I am fighting with the depression. I don't know how they put up with me but there is one thing that no matter what happens, they know how much I love them. I sure your children know how much you love them. My ex left us and he want even see out youngest daughter. I went though the same things that you are going though now. Staying bed, hiding in my room, not wanted to get out of the house. I fell apart and it still affects me today. Hang in there and don't give in to the depression. Right now I am taking lexapro and wellbutrin for my depression and anxiety. I hope you can find what works for you.

Hello, Anna,
It sounds like you need more help with your depression than the Zoloft is providing. Who prescribes the Zoloft for you? Perhaps the dosage needs to be adjusted or you need a different medication. For some of us, medication alone isn't enough. Do you see someone for counseling or therapy?
Are you married? Do you have family or friends close to help you? Please tell us more. Maybe our members here will have some suggestions for you.
Keep talking to us and try to remember that help is available.
