seeing a professional and/or taking psych meds? Agoraphobia is awful - I suffered from it after a horrible car accident and coudn't drive for 5 years without having a panic attack. It was in the early 70s, and everyone kept telling me to pull myself up by the bootstraps and get over it. Mental illness was still a big stigma at that time. I had to work it out myself, but 16 years ago was diagnosed with Major Clinical Depression and Anxiety Disorder. I am currently taking Seroquel, Neurontin (for my fibromyalgia) Prozac, and Trazadone. Also ReQuip for restless legs. Would like to be weaned off it all, but . . .
Being bipolar is also difficult, I have several friends who suffer from it.
Dear Denise, Thank you so much for writing. It is so good to hear from you. You asked me a few questions which I am very happy to answer. Yes, I am seeing a Psychiatrist on a regular basis. I do take Klonapin for my Panic disorder, it seems to work very well. I am sorry you also had to suffer Panic for 5 years. It is absolutely terrifying. Are you still having Panic Attacks? Are you able to work? How are your medications working for your Major Depression? I take Abilify, Neurontin, Prozac, and Synthroid. I am not a controlled Bi-polar. I am unable to work, and sitting at home only makes me think more. I'd really like it if we could keep in touch. Please take care..you are also in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you.
