10 Quick Stress Relievers

By Deborah Gray, Health Guide Wednesday, March 10, 2010

Below I've listed ten ideas that are near...

I may try to do some of these... I do like the idea of an aquarium.  I wonder how much it costs to keep something like that up.

De-stressing is essential for good mental health.  I am going to definitely keep these suggestions in mind.

Thanks for all your help!

goldfish @ petco or petsmart called feeder fish are about 25 cents each. fish food is $1 something @ walmart. i'm not sure of the tank.maybe you can just use a fish bowl if you have a few.my friend's tank was probably $30+.i hope that helps some.

I must admit I do the dancing to music one - when no one else is around of course. And the self-massaging and stretching really works, too. I kind of started doing these two things without really thinking about it and didn't realise it would be theraputic but I guess you're right - they do help destress. Laughing Walkig is also very good - I try to walk any bus routes I need to take whenever possible. Laughter isn't always easy if you're feeling very bad but if you can find something amusing then it can work wonders.

Hi there! I am a nutritionist and think these are all wonderful pieces of advice. I have been writing for a healthcare company, and encourage patients to LAUGH! Laughter is definitely one of the best medicines.  I have read somewhere that children laugh something like 400x a day.  No wonder they do not seem to have a care in the world.  It is so important to deal with stress, as stress leads to tension and acid build up in the precious human tissue.

The company I write for is MyMedSchedule.com.  If one is stressed about taking care of their aging parents, a sick child, or overwhelmed by their own medication and supplement regimen, I have found www.MyMedSchedule.com to be a very easy, and free way to manage medication regimens.  It allows the user to select visual medication, and print their very own medication schedules. It is pretty cool, and more people need to be aware of it.  It is stress free!  and free!  I like free!

P.S.  I suffered from depression before learning to treat myself with nutrition.  I understand how lonely it can be.

Hello
Good post - useful info and well written - thank you. For me the ultimate stress relaxation starts to happen when I put on my headphones and head to wilderness - by foot or by bicycle. There is nothing more calming than a shooting music in your ears and beautiful nature around you. And the best thing is, that it does not cost a penny.
Best Regards
Tina Good
