This is a really good post as it addresses many people's primary concern right now and that is to find a job in this economy.

If I may...I would like to add a few more things to your excellent list just based upon my personal experience.

1.  Sometimes it helps to volunteer or do an internship at a job site so that they can see how you do...and you can also see if this is the type of work you like.  This is exactly how I landed my first job.  I had already been volunteering and doing internships at the psychiatric hospital which later hired me for a paying job.

2.  Leave your expectations at the door.  Each day...get out more resumes...make more contacts...but don't rest all your hopes and dreams upon any one action.  Just keep going and don't worry about the outcome.  When you worry about the outcome you will get discouraged when you don't hear anything for some time.

3.  There is no dream job.  Some jobs are temporary and just for money to pay the bills.  I have had so many friends waste time searching for the perfect job and meanwhile their debts were growing because they didn't want a job that was "beneath" them.

Great topic and...I hope you write more about this!  I am very interested to hear from our members about what their experience has been like to look for a job while also dealing with depression.  It isn't easy that is for sure.
