By Deborah Gray, Health Guide Sunday, October 23, 2011
When we're trying to diagnose depression in ourselves or someone else, we often look at how we person feel. We feel sad, hopeless, exhausted, empty and so on. But sometimes it's hard to pinpoint how we feel, and we'll get more insight into our condition by looking at our actions. Socializing and Pas...

Hi Deborah!

Great post.  Your posts illustrates how unique the symptoms can be for each individual.  I remember reading in one of your prior posts that some of the textbook descriptions for depression simply didn't fit your experience.  I think this is true of many people...and so they may go undiagnosed.

Your post helps to increase awareness that there can be many varied symptoms of depression and that depression can affect your life in many ways that one wouldn't readily recognize at first.

Thanks so much for this informative article.

I'd like to thank you for this post.  Until now, I never realized that a lot of the things I've been experiencing are symptoms of depression -- I've thought that I might have some mood problems, but I did not know that my moods and the physical aspects of how I've been feeling all tie together.

I could not have written this better myself.  I've been struggling with Major Depression Disorder for years and your article describes exactly how I feel.

Thank you for that information, it describes me in many ways.

I have plenty to do at my apartment but I don't have the motavation

to start working on most things. I just look at things that are sitting

there & do that day after day. Its hard to describe sometimes but

this story above did very well . I've had trouble with depression for

years. I've also had T1 diabetes since age 4 that is related to that

also. I'm glad we can talk about this together on here.

Deborah, My name is Deborah also and I want to thank you so much for saying everything that I have been experiencing for a looooooong time.  I just never got help because of my family's insane issues with going to a mental doctor.  If I went to a doctor for my depression (which I really didn't know was wrong with me) I would have had a better quality of life. I experienced and still am dealing with all the issues even with medication. Hopefully in 2012 I will let the Healing Begin!
