Hey there,
God, I wish I would've read this sooner! I just recently decided to get treated for a number of things, one which is depression. I never thought I was an unhappy person, but I did some research because I knew I didn't feel entirely normal...and voila! so I went to a doc and sure enough.
I'm in college, and being in school as well as being homosexual is really hard. I made a lot of poor choices that I thought would make things better.
I found it really easy to get through life if I had a good group of peers surrounding me and supporting me. I just recently found an online community for depression at www.DailyStrength.org.
Everyone is really friendly and really willing to share and support one another. I think your advice would go a long way.
If you want, you can share at this link below (it's for the depression community). But there are also bipolar, anxiety, stress management...anything you can really think of.

thanks so much for the advice!
Warm Regards-
Chantal P.
