I just got back from shopping on Black Friday, the day after Christmas. It's called Black Friday because it's the first day of the year that retailers (potentially) start seeing black ink on the balance sheet instead of red. For almost anyone else, unless you're suffering from the holiday...
  1. That is a great start.

Trapped Ornament Some other things that might help is:

1: don't let old times run your future Christmases.

2: Go to the angel tree and help children enjoy Christmas. I do this ever year and now my youngest is carry on this tradition.

3: If some of your old detractions bring bad memories don't use them till you can feel better about them. If possible give them to someone else or give them to goodwill.

4: Visit a nursing home or do some kind of vol. work so you don't feel so don't. There is always some one else have worse problems. A smile is the best gift to help them.

5: Like Deborah says, listen to uplifting music or a good funny movie works great new feeling. It will make you laugh and help you forget the bad times.

6: come and visit us here and share what is bring you don't. Maybe we can help you out.

7: Stay away from people who bring you don't. You can even try changing the subject. My oldest daughter uses a key phase that helps her is; " I like chicken" The way she says it is so funny that everyone just has to laugh.

8: Don't go shopping on big ad days, like after Thanksgiving or just before Christmas day. The crowds are so bad.

9: Just share a smile with everyone even if they are not smiling at you. A smile has to start somewhere.

10 : Try and give to someone you feel needs a little help. I am fixing up my mom' and my aunt's houses. I am slow going but I am doing the best I can and not stopping.

Some times it is all it takes to help you stop thinking about the what is making you feel depressed.

This is no real answer but these steps might help you. I know that in one way or another they did help me. Good luck and God bless you all.
