Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 03:50 PMHi Jennifer,
The important thing is that you are feeling better. The optimal treatment is a combo of medication and therapy, it's true, but a lot of people can't afford therapy.

Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 05:27 PMHI, YES ITS ALL TOO TRUE THAT THE PEOPLE WHO MAY NEED IT MOST ARE THE ONES WITH NO MEDICAL INSURANCE, OR, MONEY TO PAY FOR THERAPY. I HAVE MY GOOD DAYS AND THE BAD ONES, WHICH TODAY, HAS BEEN VERY BAD. I CONSIDER MYSELF BLESSED THAT I CAN GO TO A CLINIC THAT HAS A SLIDING SCALE, IT GOES BY YOUR INCOME, ONLY MY HUSBAND HAS INCOME, AND THEY GO BY THAT TO DETERMINE HOW MUCH I HAVE TO PAY. I WILL BE ABLE TO GET SOCIAL SECURITY NEXT YEAR. WHAT I NEED IS MEDICARE, NOW, I FOUND OUT I HAVE DIABETIS, I HAVE CATARACS ON BOTH EYES,AND I AM AT HIGH RISK FOR COLON CANCER. NO WONDER I AM SO DEPRESSED. GOD BLESS YOU JENNIFER

Only six weeks?
Amanda
Thursday, March 13, 2008 at 04:13 PMI think that it is interesting that they only studied trials of six weeks duration. The instructions right on the prozac packet say that it can take this long for an effect to be noticed. To my mind, that makes the conclusions of this study even less useful.

Tuesday, March 18, 2008 at 03:51 PMThat was definitely the main problem I had with the study. Six weeks is really a very short amount of time in depression treatment.
