I was really skinny as a child, all the way through high school, until I went on the pill. In those days, the hormone mix for the Pill was pretty crude, and I gained a lot of weight, which I fortunately lost when I went off of it. But before the pill, I was scrawny, although my appetite was norma...

Interesting to read this just now when I'm slowly ramping  up to a full dose of Lamictal. I've been treatment-resistant for a long time, and my doctor suggested this as a way of potentiating the antidepressant I've been taking (Emsam). So far it's working in revving things up as Emsam does, without sending me into agitated overdrive. Can you suggest anything to read on Lamictal as an antidepressant in its own right rather than a supplement? Is the drug helping with depression, if not the weight problem?

    Thank

I wasn't able to find much on Lamictal as an antidepressant, only as a "boost" to antidepressants. I think that's because using it this way is fairly new.

It actually worked really well in boosting my Wellbutrin. I've felt better on it than I have in a couple of years. I'm sorry that I'm going to have to tell my doctor I want to go off of it and try something else. But late onset diabetes runs in my family, and along with MS curtailing my ability to work out, I just can't be on medication that makes me eat more.
