Just a Great day!!!

By hollymlb Friday, October 19, 2007
I had a great day today I don't really know what started it so good maybe it was the 11 hours of sleep I had or waking up to my cat Wally snuggling with me, or maybe it was cause yestarday my bf stopped by suprising me and we had a really great visit.  I don't know really but by the time I was up dressed and on my way to work I was all smiles.  Once at work my mood didn't get worse like it usually will I just kept on smiling and even started singing and humming I was just in a great mood(which is always good when you work in fast food) but totally not normal at least not normal for me in like the last few months.  So the morning went on and I got all the breaks I needed to done then took my own and I was still feeling so good.  I took over running for drive thru and checked my times 132 OMG I'm doomed I thought ain't know way this is going to end good if its starting that bad.  But I just kept on smiling thinking that I'll just work on improving it the best I can I'm sure I can get it down to 125 at least.  within a half hour I had it down to 128 YES!!!  but still had a lot to go lunch had just barely started, and I wasn't so sure about my back drive thru crew.  By noon I had the times down to 124 and it was time to really start booking it if I was going to beat my record of 86 cars and the store record of 88, but I still was not sure about my team so I decieded I wasn't going to worry about it to bad so sad but it wouldn't happen today no matter how much I wanted it.  Then at 12:22 I checked the times and looked at the cars to prove to myself we couldn't do it and we had already done 43 cars!!!!  OMG maybe we can OMG!!!!!  I was so shocked so I let my back drive thru crew know where we were what are target to beat was and informed my presenter as well.  Still not sure enough to say anything to the store manager I just kept on booking it.  10 till 1 we were at 82 OMG now I was flipping and going Robin Robin were so close...she just kept working for a few and then stopped looked at me went yeah let me see I handed her the paper and she looked and then practically started jumping up and down she got so excited she had thought I was joking until she saw it on the paper.  Front counter had no orders and the pitched in helping out I don't think I've ever seen so many people pitch in like that so quickly at my job it was like everyone wanted to help in anyway they can....we kept checking the cars and then suddenly we saw 85 OMG 1 more to tie myself...few moments later we checked again I was so scared cause we had slowed way down...but we had a 89 The record was beaten but could we do more we only had a few more minutes....at 1pm exactly I check 94 cars!!!!  Robin was now actually jumping with excitement everyone giving high fives and I stood there perfectly still just watching somewhat in shock finally Robin was like Holly get excited or something you did it!  I just said can I pass out now?  Then started smiling and joined in. Our district manager stopped in and he was really happy to hear the news.   I after work I went for a drive and then went shopping and just had a good time alone without anyone else I like doing that once in awhile.
