The extremes is what makes bipolar so hard to deal with. When you feel good you get heaps done but when things get bad the simplest of task become almost impossible.  You are continually fighting with yourself to get out of bed. You can live with the good days but the bad days are extremely diff...

    Hi there

I do agree with you that emotional lows can just about guarantee that you will feel fatigued.  When someone says they are extremely tired all the time I do wonder if there are any additional medical things going on...like a thyroid problem...anemia...things like that.

Fatigue is something I understand up close and personal as I have Multiple Sclerosis and feeling beaten down and tired is a chronic battle for me.  Also my depression doesn't help any.

    Some things that help me:

    *  Exercise believe it or not.  It gets your stamina up and your energy increases.

    *  Getting enough sleep.  Not too much and not too little.  And good REM sleep where you dream.  Sometimes you can sleep too much and it is a restless sleep and you wake up feeling worse.  I take melatonin to sleep and it works like a charm for me but for some people this natural remedy has no effect.

    *  Eating right...possibly taking supplements.  Fish oil, Vitamin B-12, and folate are some things that may increase your energy.

Before I write a post here...I will stop and allow others to chime in.

Thank you for talking about this...fatigue is such a common symptom of depression and many other ailments as well.

    Hope you feel better soon.
