I have had trouble with depression from youth and used to find it hard to admit. I tried the doctors that gave some medication which I've come off of now. I found that the best thing for more was to talk it through with a councellor and friends. I'd like to help others who are suffering and talk with others about what's troubling them.

It seems that you have already gotten lots of good feedback on your article. We can discuss depression here but we cannot provide editing...especially when your article is on another site.

This question is, I suppose, is for those of you who have "recovered from" depression. My husband and I have been married for a little over 10 years, wonderful but terribly depressed and painful years. Depression was completley new to me when we met, so I (stereoptypically) assumed he was lazy and comfortable with me always doing everything. The more I learned about his disease the more I realized that as it wasn't his fault, it didn't change the fact that I would be responsible for taking care of him and everything else around the house, bills, ect.. This was a painful reality for me but because I loved him and knew that if it was in his power to change he would, I was determined to learn as much about depression and be proactive as I could. The astounding sad reality is how everyone seems to suffer in silence, because this is my husband's story and not my own to tell, I feel like I would be somehow be betraying him if I broke our silence and confided in anyone.
I am hoping not only for some enlightenment, but also to hear that things can turn around and that his (and mine watching him) pain can change.
