My Daughter

By jd Tuesday, January 01, 2008
How do I get through to my daughter what is going on?  We were always so close.  I got cards that said things like "you're my role model".  "We'll always make it together".  But when my world fell apart she just refused to have anything to do with me.  I asked her to go to a meeting with my therapist, which she did, and her comments were that is was bull.  I feel I've lost my best friend..

It sounds like your daughter may have a mood disorder but the only way to know for sure is to get a doc to diagnose. Therapy on its own is unlikely to help. If you are worried go to her GP and write down all the things you have observed and discuss with the doc. Your GP may be able to encourage her to get specialised medical help and therapy. Good luck.
