I had heard this news as well. It is an awful state of things with our economy that bad financial times can drive someone to commit suicide. I think when people feel trapped and with no ready solutions to their problems that suicide is sometimes thought about. Reaching the person before this breaking point is so critical.
I am glad that you have posted about ways to prevent such a needless tragedy from happening in the first place. I hope the information gets to those who need it.
Thank you for writing about this.
How very sad ~
When I read this, it made me stop and think, again, how and why we were put on this planet. When I get to the deepest, darkest places ~ like most everyone on here does at times, I feel so hopeless but for some reason I have never considered taking my own life. In fact it scares me to think that I might become so overwhelmed that my body will just give up on me & my heart will quit beating.
I say this many times to myself & I have written it in share posts. There will come a day where I won't have the choice anymore to stick around. None of us are going to get out of this world alive. So, while I do have a choice, I do want to keep living & I realize my own mortality.
Life is so precious & somehow I can pull myself up just a little when I am at my darkest by remembering & repeating my own words to myself.
Thank you for sharing.

These always remind me to be a better friend. Say or do nice things for friends, when they need them; when they can hear them.
I'm sure he was beset with overwhelming problems given the job he was given. We can place people by position or achievement but all can bear extraordinary burdens in our minds and fact. I'm sorry to hear that anyone lost all hope.
I think from talking to people, those resources you mention should be given a try. They do work.
