am bp and have tried several different meds over the years, none of which worked for me, all of which caused weight gain regardless of diet and exercise. weight just goes when i go off the meds. trying lamictal right now so will see how it goes. only time i have ever gained weight is while pregnant or on any kind of meds. more research needs to be done. depressed people get more depressed when they gain weight!

Hello

Yes I do agree...it is bad enough to be depressed but then to find that the pills that are supposed to be helping you...cause you to gain weight adds insult to injury.

I wrote a two part series about this very topic and you can find Part One of my series right here.

Hope this helps some...
