Hang in there

Thursday, November 05, 2009 at 10:43 AMFirst of all, i applaud you for requesting a new doctor. I have no idea what this one was thinking. Any good doctor should know that you don't take someone off a high dose of pain medicine cold turkey like that. It can cause major withdrawls. If there was a health risk so great that you needed to be pulled off those meds immediately, it should have been explained to you. Maybe your therapist can help you get into the doctor sooner or place a call in your favor to help explain your situation. Hang in there, take some deep breaths, and keep your mind busy. -

Thursday, November 05, 2009 at 01:14 PMI am very suprised the doc took you off cold-turkey. I was on klonopin just a month ago and found out that it causes more depression in some people. So they (the hospital) weaned me off, over the course of 4 days. Then I continued to de-tox for 3-4 weeks when I was released. Is there anyway you can see a different doctor at a different practice? We sometimes have to be our own strong advocates in these cases.... Take care, don't forget to breathe and rest.

Saturday, November 07, 2009 at 09:01 AMOh Suzanne!
What a horrible experience...they didn't even tell you that your doctor was leaving? Geez...and then to take you off your med cold turkey...this is not right in my book. Tell us what your therapist has to say about this. You have to be the squeaky wheel right now and get the meds you need.
I am so very sorry you are going through this. Sometimes the medical system can be very insensitive.

Saturday, November 07, 2009 at 09:49 AMThanks, I did go to my therapy appt on the 5th and she called and got me an appt for the 10th-of course she was really mad and told them she couldn't treat me when I could even sit still. She also gave me some tips on how to look at my fears and some ways to deal with them. Its hard cause I don't even want to think about anything. But sooooooooo glad your here, thanks!

Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 08:25 AMWell I went in for my appt my therapist made for me yesterday only to find out it was with the same man---wrong--I asked if there was a female doctor I could see and they found one with an opening for me andshe didn't understand why they didn't replace my meds with something else--but she did and we talked for awhile and she has me on trazodone 100mg 2xday and if the onw in the morning is to much I can break in half and I need more take two--but also one in the evening due to starting to wake in the night again and she didn't want to mess with my seroqel and slept real good last night but of course going and waking in pain.
But wanted you to know how it all went
talk soon

Hi this is momdukes, first of all I want you to step back andjust breath.....come on doit again breath....there you go. You are panicking, and there is no need to. You are going to get you knickers all in a knot, if you do not have your meds, just do not focus on them. You will be fine. We do not know why this doctor is doing this, maybe your body needs a break, who knows, but do not put tomuch thought into it, just flow.... Think of Thanksgiving, Xmas, stuff like that! It will be all right, but don't panick, because that is what you are doing. You may surprise yourself, at just how strong you are with the meds, give it a try, keep us posted. Butjustbreath first!
