How can I gain the motivation to change my life

By Christophe Friday, November 21, 2008

Thanks for reading this, who ever you are I wish you well and hope if by being on this site you find help, I hope I do, its just another try, an attempt at gaining happiness.  Something I haven't felt in such a long time I can hardly ever believe I actually once was happy.  CHRISEmbarassed

I know how hard it is to be isolated, although my situation is totally different from yours, it is somewhat similar.  I do know that having someone to actually "talk" to does help.  Everyone's situation is so different but they do have some of the same similarities.

You have definitely done so much in your life!!!  Wow!!  Unlike you I live in a very, very small town which makes it really hard to seek out any help.  I do suffer from depression and MS and have had a really rough time of it the past 2 years.  I have been struggling so hard with it, and realize that you too have been (to say the least), but sometimes just knowing that you are not alone helps.  I don't know if anything that I say would help (I hope it does), but you are not alone.  It really sounds to me like you are a fighter and have the education to really make a difference in yourself and the world around you.

I don't come close to being able to relate to your situation, but I do know what it feels like to be isolated.  And sometimes being able to just know that there is a person out there, makes a difference.  I'm "out there".

Take care and know that there are people out there that care!

AUSTEN RIGGS

Austen Riggs is a complete fraud. Perhaps at one time they ran a good operation, but that is no longer the case. Over $250,000 was spent on my adult child and we were then told that they couldn't help her after initially being told they were "specialists in treatment resistance" and "they don't give up on anyone". This is total PR nonsense. The staff runs for the exits at 5PM and they hardly, if ever, return phone calls. The administration is a disaster and unresponsive and uncommunicative unless they want more money.

I guess those of us who think a trip to the Bahamas or Cancun might lift our depression can guess again!  Have you tried investing yourself in serious volunteer work...you've tried all the clinics and rehab groups and still haven't found what you're looking for.  Not the answer for everyone, but it helped me.
