short cat report, some better

By Marishka Wednesday, April 25, 2012

Found that it is best to keep Emma and Burt apart.

Emma  is happy  this way.  She is not scared.

Emma is  on the floor sleeping near the computer.   She is very happy being near me without Burt.

I feed her in this room now.

This is not what I wanted, but I want Emma happy and this is how she is happy.

Burt seems ok with this arrangement. I spend time with him alone and other times, he plays with his mouse or sleeps.

Harder on me, but worth it.

just going along.  need to be patient and gentle on myself.  No physical pain today so very relieved! :)

Sure miss you MM!

feeling a little better

Glad you are on the way to figuring out the cat situation.  I can certainly relate to having a high strung cat.  He is my only cat though.  My dog is big and certainly not gentle, but weirdly my cat loves her.  This is a cat that walks three feet around a piece of lint on the floor cause he is scared of it lol.

Have you ever looked into Feliway, it is something that you spray in your house to relax stressed out cats.  I have never used it but some people swear by it.  It is like kitty Xanax.

That is very funny about your cat walking around the piece of lint...:)

I have tried feliway, I have some sprayed around the home. It did make a difference.

You know what?  My cats are 8 and 9 months now.  It is some better in regards to Burt jumping on Emma less, so I am very glad!

Thing is, I REALLY wanted and want lap cats!  Very friendly, in your lap, purring, jumping up on your lap...ya know?

And I don't know if these will ever be that way...

So I still question in the back of my mind...what will I do....like possibly just find good homes for them and get an older cat?

They say it takes a few years though to see their personality...so I am torn.... that tears my heart out the thought of doing that, since I love them......any thoughts?

For now, I am just waiting and loving them and I do adore them, just want them to feel all safe and be on my lap and cuddly...
