Best of luck, Kyle S., let us know what the doctor starts you on.

There is a Member Medication Review, written by Merely Me, a writer and Community Leader for this site, about a number of drugs and substances which you may find helpful and has comments by some members of this site.

Hello Kyle

We have another member named Kyle so at first I thought perhaps you were this other member...but you are a totally new Kyle.  How about that?

Yes indeed you can find tons of support here.  Most of us have been through this battle with depression and we are here to share our stories.

Why don't you start by telling us more about yourself and whatever you feel comfortable sharing.  How are you presently coping with your depression?

Feel free to read some of the other shareposts, comments, or questions to get a feel for this site.

Looking forward to hearing more from you.  Thank you so much for participating on this site.

Thanks, I've been battling depression since I was a teen. Just went to the Doc today and they started me back on Prozac, we'll see. Question, do you think if you take an ani-depressant long enough that you can become immune to it, and it doesn't work anymore? Right now it's just day to day.

How long has it been Kyle...since you had taken Prozac?

Prozac is one of the medications known to "poop out" over time.  This happened for my son after about 18 months.  I don't know what happens when you take a break from it and then go back on it.  There are a ton of other medication options so if the Prozac does not work out...know that there are other choices you can discuss with your doctor.  But generally you have to wait 6-8 weeks to reach the therapeutic level.

Let us know what happens...

thank you for the tip, I went off of my meds about 2 years ago, big mistake. Hopefully things will start getting better now.
