just starting to get help

By mandytpie Thursday, May 07, 2009

hey, i'm new here.  I have struggeled with depresstion for over 10 years.  I have never been able to stay on meds, i always have self medicated or just suffered.  Now i have gone trough so many things and phases that i need to get med's and be better for my son as i'm  a single parent.  after an intervention from some friends i gave up my apartment and have moved back in with my parents so i can get life organize again.  also so they can help keep track of my progress.  does anyone have any advice on how to be successful with this?  i know i have to be here for my son but its been very hard the last few years.  i jsut want to be happy like i'm sure everyone else does.

Sounds like you have a very caring and wonderful group of friends. Something to treasure forever. If it were me in your shoes I would look into finding a therapist or a counselor that can help you thru thus. Doing this alone is not something that you want to do to yourself or your child. Hiring someone whom has a specific purpose toward your emotional well being can give you lots of comfort and advise.

Hope this helps,

Pat
