Well for the most part I haven't had much depression to deal with. But recently I started feeling as if I wasn't accomplishing anything. So I decided I would join the Women's Hockey League in my town. I had already been working on it prior to this but I really got the ball rolling once...

Tuesday, May 06, 2008 at 12:33 AMLet me clue in anyone who happens to come across this and any other "success" stories about using anti depressants. They will not work and have been proven to not work. You myaswell be shoving a sugar pill down your throat once a day. I took 3 types of anti-depressants for periods of 3-6 months along with antianxiety medications (as I was forced to take them due to some incompetent psychiatrist legally forming me). I noticed no change in my symptoms and at the time everyday I felt like the world would end for me. The pills made me fall asleep in class twice sometimes 3 times a day. Eventually I told my doctor and psychiatrist I would see them in court before I took another one of their tranquilizers. Its now been over 2 years and I have chosen what I believe to be the better form of treatment after trying psychotherapy, prozak, zoloft, paxil, and activities I enjoy. My final decision: smoke marijuana once a day when you desperatly need the mood change. Im not a doctor, but it works!! Anyone who thinks it would impair them at work or at home with their family either hasn't tried it or is listening to the american propaganda (thanks to nixon). Canada has allowed the use of medicinal marijuana for many purposes it just so happen depression is one of them. Their is a process involved and im still awaiting my mental health specialist and doctor to sign the forms. but for now it is the only alternative unless you want to be tranquilized for the rest of your life. On a final note those pills you were prescribed that you claim helped you? Did your psychiatrist even bother to tell you the long term effects? Probably didn't you know why? BECAUSE NOBODY KNOWS scary thought!!!

Wednesday, May 07, 2008 at 06:29 AMummm...did you read my post? My post was about how I started playing hockey and because of the physical activity I started feeling better. But in responde to your statement, you should know that not all meds work for all people. So what might work for me won't necessarily work for you. I am sorry that you haven't had any luck w/ anti-depressants but maybe something else is going on. My psychiatrist says sometimes people who take anti-depressants, anti-anxiety meds, and sleep aids, have adhd, maybe that's the case with you. But I don't know. I wish you the best of luck.
