Hi, I'm Kristina, and I'm new to this forum.  I have had depression off and on for as long as I can remember.  Now I'm a mom of a 3yr old son and married for 4 years.  I often wonder why people in my circle of friends or groups that I belong to always seem so entergetic, busy, happy, and organized.  They seem like they always have a busy life and the means to get what they want.

I don't have any motivation, to clean, cook, walk or fufill the responsibilities I commit to. Not sure why I keep commiting.  Guess I'm hoping something will change.  I don't want my son to be affected by my depression...

Hi,

you posted to my intro, so I wanted to welcome you.  I know exactly how you feel.  If you ever need anyone to talk to that can relate, go ahead and private message me, if you have yahoo messenger, we can chat on that.  I'll keep you in my prayers.  Take care of yourself and your baby.

Hi and welcome. It can be very hard trying to deal with just every day things when you're depressed, can't it? One of the toughest things I think is learning not to beat ourselves up for not being able to cope with what everyone else seems to get energised from - I think pretty much everyone, if not absolutely everyone, on this site will completely relate to what you just said in your post. It has to be extra hard dealing with a 3yr old son - they can be a handful at the best of times but when you don't have any energy or motivation... very tough! Does your husband support you and help you out?

Please keep writing here and know that you are not alone.

Hi Kristina!

You have one of the toughest jobs in the world...being a mom.  I can tell you that from experience...it always seems like everyone else has it together but...you only get to see a glimpse of people's real world.  Behind the scenes...so many other moms are struggling with the day to day too.  You are definitely not alone.

I hope that you do write more about what you are going through.  We want to hear your story!
