I have MS and along with that came depression.  I was dx about 9 years ago and for 8 of those years was taking prozac with remarkable results.  Since February of this year, I had another bout with MS and with that came depression that has not subsided since.  I have tried different medications which none have really helped.  The last 6 weeks have been pure living hell!  I have been going to counseling and a psychiatrist since May.  Does anyone share the same type of situation as I do?

Dove I have had  ms for 17 years now and some of the demylations acts on the part of the brain that controls the emotions. I have the relapsing and  progressive ms.  I am taking lexapro and wellbutrin  for my depression.  For my ms I am taking rebif.  A lot of meds can cause more depression than we need.  I have lost my husband of 23 years, jobs, my chance at college, ( for a short time),  friends, but still I am not giving up. I just find another way to fulfill my life and to easy my depression.  Art work, sewing, crochet, working with animals, home remodeling, and coming here. I have had so many attacks and set backs but just let another door open and don't let the ms have you.  You might have ms but ms doesnt' have you.  God bless and take care if I can help you in anyway just ask.  There is a site call Webmd try it out. Right now they have a lot of info on ms to day.

thanks for putting down those words. I have had MS for 8 years now and finally have started a proactive course with it. Acceptance is a big part of this. May things improve.
