About Me

I am 44 years old and have a wonderful family. My husband has been so supportive throughout all of this. I also have 3 great kids, 2 out of the house ages 24 and 20. My youngest is 12. I work part time and have recently changed jobs. I am really struggling with depression at this time. I had an exacerbation in February 2007 and have not been able to get the depression under control. I've been on many drugs and had many bad experiences on some of them. There are days that I don't think I can do it anymore, but the love (and stigma) for my family keeps me holding on. I'm not a real pleasure to be around, but I try. I am always crying. I am seeing a therapist (since May '07) as well as a psychiatrist since April and have since changed to a new one. My neurologist was trying to control the depression, but had no luck and told me to go see a psychiatrist. In between all of this of course I had to play the waiting game of getting in to see all of the above doctors/therapists, etc. Either that or told to hang on for about 6-8 weeks before I'd see the results of the meds!!!! Everyone that is close to me now knows never ever say to me 6-8 weeks!!!! I am hoping that the citolapram with the clonepam will start kicking in---its been about 3 weeks now---haven't felt any different. Sometimes I wonder if I ever will.
