so pleased I've managed to lose half a stone

By fifi Sunday, November 08, 2009

Feeling really pleased with myself today as I've managed to lose half a stone in two weeks. The biggest thing is I did it through healthy eating and excercise. I went into a panic about four weeks ago after weighing myself and finding out  that I had gone up to ten and a half stone. I'm only five foot and so that's a lot for me.

My husband noticed and asked if I'd weighed myself recently, so I jumped on the scales and nearly threw them out of the window. He then said, I'll have to leave you if you dont lose the weight. I was really upset and asked him did he really mean what he said and he said no he was only joking. The trouble is I've been fighting an eating disorder for years and this made me have a little blip. So I gave myself a good talking to and started to eat lots of fish and less carbs and it seems to be working. To be honest I'm glad he said it because it gave me the insentive to do it, not for him, but for myself really. I just want to get to a healthy BMI. and hopefully all the fish oils will help with the depression as well. Then He'd better watch out that I dont leave him for a more sensitive and thoughtful person.

Okay I need to have a translation here.  Is a stone like...a pound?

Well whatever you lost...congratulations!

Stay tuned because...tomorrow I will post a big article about depression and weight gain.  I will tell my own story of gaining and losing and gaining...and...so forth.  It never ends does it?

But help and support are on the way...I have some great resources for you guys.

I hope your having a great weekend!

No it's seven pounds but I'm aiming for that stone. Thanks Merely Me. Looking forward to that article.

Fifi, does that mean that you only weight 73-1/2 pounds???  If a stone is 7 lbs., ten of them would be 70, right?  Is that healthy?

Hi Judy

A stone is fourteen pounds. I weighed 147lbs to begin with thats ten and a half stone and a BMI of 27 so too much for 5ft.

Nice one! Ha ha, I feel like i'm at the beginning of that journey having recently weighed myself and getting a nice little shock. So exercise and cutting back on carbs works? And more fish? Sounds like a plan! Thanks Laughing

Thanks pixie

Well done to you too. The good thing about eating more fish and less carbs(I still eat them just not so much bread and smaller portions of rice and potatoes) is that I haven't felt hungry, so it's easier to stick to. Thanks again for the support.
