Ok, I know I sound stupid but I am terrified to go in and talk to my doctor about getting back on medication. I have been off meds for about 2 1/2 years- (which was really dumb) however, financially I couldn't swing the office visits or the prescription costs. Unfortunately, I have seriously spiralled downward and need to get help. I just made an appointment but I keep coming up with reasons why I could cancel... I don't know why I feel this way about my docotor, am I just sabatoging myself? Does anyone have a suggestion?Undecided

Dottie, just give it a try once more.  I've talked to a handful of doctors and can tell you that it gets easier with time.

Good luck and I hope you keep your appointment Smile.

the way you described your feelings of apprehension i can relate to. I too need to be on medication but went off due to not having any insurance. I have spiraled as well. But I keep putting off going to the doctor. I recently moved to a new place and I think that's part of it. I have to go to a new doctor and explain everything all over again. It's frustrating. I have a serious lack of motivation. I feel like I kinda feel your apprehension.

It's scary to take that step to call the doctor and know you may have to go back on medications, but it shows how brave you are for making that appointment and making steps to improve your life. Perhaps the clinic where you go has a program to help pay for the visits or medications or maybe you could get help through a county program. It's ok to be on medications, we do what we have to do to. Keep your appt., make payments on the bill if you have to, and be very verbal with your doctor about exactly how you feel and also your financial concerns. Good luck and the very best to you!
